Founded in 1974 by Haj Mohammed Chaouni and subsequently backed by a stable family shareholding group, Zalar has implemented an ambitious strategy aimed at the diversification and integration of its activities, particularly through a number of mergers and acquisitions, as well as other strategic financial transactions. The Group quickly became one of the major operator in the Moroccan agribusiness industry, and is now the leading domestic integrated poultry player.
